Personal Injury Claims
The purpose of personal injuries proceedings is to ensure just compensation for you where you have experienced an injury due to the conduct or negligence of another party. To progress matters, a medical report is required, and must be submitted to the Injuries Resolution Board (previously the Personal Injuries Assessment Board).

The Injuries Resolution Board will make a recommendation as to the level of compensation that should be awarded. This must be based on the Personal Injuries Guidelines, which set out the scales of awards which are appropriate depending on the type of injury.
The recommendation of the Board is not legally binding unless it is agreed to by both parties. If it is not accepted, the matter will go to Court. How to proceed at this stage is a crucial decision and you should avail yourself of appropriate legal advice.
